One Red Paper Clip = One Saskatchewan Home
Earlier on this site I wrote about Kyle Macdonald and his amazing journey with a red paperclip, and a dream of owning a house! On July 12th 2005 Kyle posted a picture of a red paper clip and issued a statement to anyone who would read it. His intent was to trade the paper clip for a house! Well after a series of amazing trades, Kyle was given his house exactly one year later! It took 14 trades, a lot of traveling and several interviews, but he achieved his goal!
Kyle has had immeasurable publicity over this. Radio shows, newspaper articles, television appearances, you name it! And of course to complete this press coverage, is an interview with yours truly! That’s right! KPG has got Kyle!
We talked mainly about what he would do now that he has his wonderful home in Kipling Saskatchewan. While he is unsure of exactly what the future holds for him his immediate plans include hosting a huge house warming party on Labor Day weekend, writing a book about his experiences over the last year, and helping build a giant red paperclip visible from space! His blog is a delightful diary of his trading, and for me personally, the highlight of this whole journey. He is articulate and funny and weaves a web of entertainment as you read about his experiences and travels. He is just simply a very likeable guy. I strongly suggest you visit his blog, and please listen to my interview with him!
Thanks again Kyle, and congrats!
