As a designer, well an almost designer anyway, I hear and see a lot of products that both fascinate and frightening…mostly frightening actually. It is this combination that comes to mind when I discovered the red leather kitchen cabinets from Snaidero. I am of course speaking of the Venus kitchen – a new contemporary design created by Pinifarnia design.

Featured on one of my favorite design sites Trendir, these cabinets are both mesmerizing and fantastical. Fine leather products have always been associated with a high price tag, when you mix this with such an unlikely, nay unsuitable application you get extravagant decadence that verges on eccentric taste. Think about it…leather cabinets! I was weary about putting laminate in my kitchen, now I am wondering if I am not a kitchen prude.

Not for the faint of heart nor the thin of wallet, this custom kitchen can be teamed up with sexy lighting, sleek countertops and streamline edging that would give new meaning to a kitchen party. Like it not, it is different. Me, I love it!
