Okay, so there are some really useless gadgets out there that are made with shinnies and swirlies just to get an average attention challenged geek’s interest. Some will glow, some will buzz, some might shoot arrows or quote Star Wrek, but on the average these little gadgets are good for a gag and nothing else. They are pretty much a waste of the energy used to create them. I bet if we were to gather all the push aside and forgotten gadgets that held our fascination for a sneezing second we could build a container ship and bring the rest of them to the land of forgotten toys!There is however, the rare exception, like this really cool USB beverage cooler found on Think Geek.

We have all seen the hot plates for coffee cups, they are still rather popular, but besides an isolated foam cup that has some sort of cheesy logo or half dressed woman draped across it, I have never seen such a creative cocktail cooler. Not only does it keep your beverage cold, it looks totally geeky with its USB plug in. I really think this is a great little stocking stuffer that will cause a smile at its discovery, but better still, it is not a useless gadget that will go unused. What better way to geek than on your patio in the summer with a nice cold beer ! Very chillin’!
