A B&B is Born - Windsor Nova Scotia
Whew, it is has been quite a journey, but we made it. The rooms are finished, the dust is gone, the website is up, and all that we are missing are the guests. We took a beautiful, but forgotten century home, and gave it new life. All it took was a roof, new wood furnace, new chimney liners, two new bathrooms( including bringing the piping through the old walls to the top floor, renovating the two existing bathrooms,4 new doors, a new front deck, new expanded driveway, new back fence, ridiculous amounts of furniture/appliances/linens and a few of the essentials for a small home reno - 100 paintbrushes ( evidently you should clean them) 1004 screws of various sizes, 25 gallons of paint, 10 gallons of stain, 5 gallons of varnish,16 Tshirts ( never got the hand of painting) 10 blinds ( I like to walk around …um…sans dress),6 gallons of wood patch, 12 half pints of various stain ( alot of wood in the house), 20 sets of curtains,105 large pizza’s from Fred’s,5 new pairs of pants due to all the pizza, 245 pieces of molding and baseboards, 510 nails of various lengths, 65 pieces of different grit sandpaper,3 cans of turpentine, 43 pieces of drywall, 65 dollars worth of recycled beer and wine bottles ( you can do the math) 20 new locks ( including a rather cool fingerprint one for our office), 50 lft of vinyl flooring, 4 tubs of glue ( yes tubs), 18 tubs of putty ( yes again tubs), 25 exacto knives ( not sure why), 4 ceiling fans,72 rolls of paper towel 4 chandeliers, 10 wall sconces, 10 wood transition pieces, 3 electric fireplaces, 3 things of ‘goo be gone’ 12 sets of trays and rollers, 35 tubes of silicone ( I like the smell), 4 bottles of asprine ( smell did not like me),50 bags of black soil ( for the garden of course), 15 bags of bark, flowers and plants that I dont dare count, 15 rolls of wall paper, 24 4×4, 75 2×4, uncountable metal thingys like “l”brackets and stuff, 84 packages of wood paneling, 1 nail gun, 4003 nails for nail gun ( 2003 of which are misfires), 3 packages of bandages, uncountable new saw blades and drill bits, and about 1/2 hour of marriage counseling ( decided to get drunk instead).
Okay so the numbers might be off, but it was a lot of work - I am sorry I have not been around and from the JaK attack we hope we have not lost all of our listeners…. We will be back in no time at all!
